HAND-E

Open-source notices

Last updated 11 October 2026

HAND-E (the home screen and the GeoQuake, GeoMap, MemoFrame, Framini and DeskBuddy apps) is made by Bulut Solutions LLC and built with the open-source software listed below. HAND-E's own code is not open source, but every part listed here stays under its own license, and nothing in our terms limits the rights those licenses give you.

Arduino core for the ESP32 (GNU LGPL 2.1)

All of HAND-E is built on the Arduino core for the ESP32, version 2.0.17, which is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1. We use it without changes. Its complete source code is at github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32 (tag 2.0.17).

You may change this library and use your changed version with HAND-E. For that, HAND-E may be modified for your own use, and reverse-engineered to debug such modifications.

Our offer: for at least three years after we last ship a version of HAND-E or one of its apps, we will send anyone who asks, free of charge, the object files and the instructions needed to relink that version with a modified Arduino core. Write to hello@handeos.com and name the app and its version (shown in the app's settings).
